Peter Lawler (1957-2017) was Dana Professor of Government and former chair of the department of Government and International Studies at Berry College. Lawler served on President Bush's Council on Bioethics from 2004-09. He authored numerous books, including Modern and American Dignity: Who We Are as Persons, and What That Means for Our Future.
